Event overview
When activist Wafa Mustafa's father disappears under Assad's regime, her search for answers becomes a story of memory, identity and resilience.
From Oscar-nominated filmmaker Waad Al-Kateab comes Maybe Tomorrow. Co-directed with childhood friend Wafa Mustafa, together they follow Wafa's journey of grief, hope, and exile as Wafa risks everything to uncover her father's fate. In Syria, a country where around 177,057 (source: The Syrian Network for Human Rights) people remain missing, her personal search becomes a collective story of memory, resistance, search for justice and love that refuses to fade. This film holds space for uncertainty, for love that outlives silence, and for hope that survives in the dark - because to tell stories is to be alive. As Wafa says, "We only exist if we are remembered.鈥
